The co-founder of Quinto Game Company, Elizabeth Norris, states, When we were developing Quinto, we set out to create a game that was not only lots of fun to play, but one with broad appeal to people of all ages, experience, and backgrounds. Quinto has its roots in an ancient Roman board game called Calculi or Five in a Row. The winner of this ancient board game was the first player to line up five stones or pebbles in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. With the addition of playing cards, a scoring system, clever rules, and chips to replace the old Roman stones, Quinto Game Company has created an entertaining and timeless twist on an ancient pastime.

I DO believe that Quinto is an outstanding game that has a lot to offer. First, it is easy to understand, and easy to play. Rules do not take too long to explain, easy to set up and to clean up. Second, it is designed for team play. Teams can be a mix of ages and groups. It is a simple game that challenges players to think and plan out moves. Thirdly, it is good for an entire family. Kids, adults, and everyone in between. Lastly, it is familiar.
My play-testers and I sat down and played 10 games over 3 days. We had a great time. Now, doing what I do, I have played a lot of games easily numbering in the mid-hundreds. I can say with certainty that Quintois a really good game and definitely deserves a look. I am very happy to give Quinto a very high recommendation!

Quinto may very well come to be known as the most entertaining board game of all time. Quinto levels the playing field for intelligent players without previous experience with classic board games.... This flexibility, and the natural social interaction created by team play, makes it a much better party game than any other parlor board/card games that I know. The fact that we are able to play together at all is quite remarkable in itself. Quinto must be credited for that.. It is incredible that a ten-year-old can play with college students and all can still be challenged. That is one of the great strengths of Quinto.
